Andreu Lacondeguy

“Ride for life - live to ride”

“Faster, bigger, higher” are the adjectives to describe Andreu’s riding best. Possibly the sickest mountain biker in the world; definitely the one with the biggest balls. Always riding at the limit he’s pushing the boundaries year by year. There’s close to nothing you can do on two wheels that the Catalan does not have in the bag. And most importantly there’s (almost) no stunt he doesn’t feel comfortable doing - be that on MTB, BMX or motocross.

Doing that he bagged everything that counts for something in his sport: Crankworkx victories in Whistler, at the Vienna Air King, gold medal at the Red Bull Berg Line Event in Winterberg and much more. In 2014 he even reached the long awaited crown of Rampage, where his sensational first run in the finals set the score so high with 95.25 points, that no other rider was able to trump that. And with the Fest Series Andreu created an event that surpasses anything we’ve seen so far. Goal being to ride the biggest Freeride Jumps and Trails without any pressure, to show the sport in its purest form: pressure- and schedule-free.

Setup

Andreu, the textbook freerider rides the TUES in size S. His spring on the rear shock he chooses according to the terraine and changes between a 275 until up to a 350. Whereas he is using a stiff spring for huge jumps like the FEST Series or Rampage, only for shredding trails in the Alps he is using a softer spring. Compression and Rebound always stay the same. In the front he is using a RockShox Boxxer World Cup from SRAM’s black box program. Andreu uses the same set up the whole year and normaly uses the standard settings – what is maybe the main difference between him and most other pro riders, who make more adjustments.
